develop what is now known as the modern day hot air balloon. The first manned flight with an on-board heating system took place at Raven in 1960. This was the birth of a new and beautiful world wide sport.
In 1986, Raven created a wholly owned subsidiary, Aerostar International, Inc. to continue its long history of innovation in the field of inflatables including hot air balloons and many cold air products. Aerostar has continued to set the standard for the hot air ballooning industry. Not only is Aerostar the largest and most progressive hot air balloon manufacturer, it has also become the premier manufacturer of cold air and helium inflated balloons. Aerostar's products are featured at the world's largest theme parks, holiday parades and special events.

Poised For The Future
Aerostar's highly diverse and talented staff includes skilled artists, designers and balloon craftsman averaging in excess of a decade of experience each. Aerostar has assembled an engineering staff with vast experience in design, structures, materials and safety. Aerostar's modern , large (50,000 + square feet), state of the art facilities include a company wide LAN, CAD, computerized fabric cutting and complete quality assurance and testing facility.

By carrying this insurance, Aerostar demonstrates its commitment to its customers and the future of ballooning. Multi-million dollar product liability lawsuits are not uncommon today. Any given balloon manufacturer could find themselves embroiled in such a lawsuit at virtually anytime. Without product liability insurance, the costs of defending themselves can easily cripple any manufacturer to the point of being driven out of business. If that would happen, the owners of aircraft manufactured by that company would find it difficult, if not impossible, to obtain parts to keep their aircraft airworthy and flying legally.
Why is product liability insurance important? It is your assurance that Aerostar will be here for the long run supporting you and your balloon. This is our commitment to the future. An aircraft is too big an investment to not have this protection.
